Green Nairobi

The city is green once more! The rains have something to do with it...

...but so too do the efforts of one John Gakuo

Jeevanji Gardens

Look at all the potted plants outside Kengeles

You know, I almost forgot I had this in my portfolio. How such an institution of Nairobi could have slipped my mind, sijui! Maybe all that green was too mesmerizing...

Ain't those clumps of green by the pond at Uhuru Park tings' o' beauty?

With all due respect to the ancient Mayans and Aztecs, methinks we aren't doing too badly with our own pyramid amidst all that greenery.

The parting shot is of the skyline in the background framed by gorgeous green in the foreground.

@Mocha Asante. Red soil! Nakwambia, a friend from here who had accompanied me home one time was so jazzed by red soil she had to bring some back with her (disregarding the fact that it is illegal to do so). She had never seen red soil in her life.

Yeah for the sun! And HOT sun I must add. Sio like here where you could get the sun but have no heat coming from it.

@Prousette The camera has a way of hiding imperfections, I guess. Either that or the cameraman was too focussed on the good side :) Lakini for sure the city is much cleaner than it used to be at one time.

@Majonzi You and I dear. You and I.

@Q Karibu sana

@Msanii Asante

@Ichiena Interesting challenge for you, ama?

Mama Boi has been missed!

@Princess Karibu

@Aco It is not crumbling at all. If they could just fix the outstanding traffic situation, Nai would be paradise to be in.

sijui niseme. it's nice to be reminded once in a while that we 'run around our fakely hectic lives' blind to the beauty that surrounds us. thanks for sharing.

@Aegeus si it's your writing of a masterpiece that's keeping you away. Whatever happened to the sequels? N'ways, asante!

@Modoathii too true. Plenty of beauty around us, but in our pseudo-hecticness we are oblivious to it. Karibu sana.
